Gymnastikförbundets ställningstaganden med anledning av kriget i Ukraina

Gymnastikförbundet fördömer den ryska invasionen och det krig som just nu pågår i Ukraina. Vi lider med och vill uttrycka vårt deltagande med alla drabbade.

Under ett nordiskt möte den 4-5 mars enades gymnastikförbunden från Danmark Finland, Island, Norge och Sverige om en gemensam skrivelse till det internationella gymnastikförbundet, FIG.

Our hearts go out to the Ukrainian people

Following up on the communication from European Gymnastics from March 4th, the Nordic Gymnastics Federations, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, would like to express our full support to the decision that the exclusion also includes authorities from Russia and Belarus. We believe that European Gymnastics has been setting a strong example on how to act in these horrible times.

All athletes, judges and officials representing Russia and Belarus cannot take part in international competitions and activities and all Russian and Belarus elected/appointed authorities needs to step back from their positions until further notice.

Our hearts go out to the Ukrainian people who suffer under this brutal act of war and to our dear friends in the sports family who are now punished into a fight for survival rather than sporting glory.

Gymnastikförbundet följer fortsatt utvecklingen inom Riksidrottsförbundet och den övriga svenska idrottsrörelsen, samt de internationella Gymnastikförbunden European Gymnastics och FIG.
